TOKYO, June 8 — Football simulation Fifa 17 is to launch on September 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC versions of Fifa 17 will be built within the Frostbite game engine that originated with the Battlefield franchise.
It has since been used more generally within Electronic Arts’ studio network and away from the first-person shooter genre, including within Rory McIlroy PGA Tour,Dragon Age: Inquisition and 2015’s Need for Speed, as well as for Star Wars Battlefront, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and 2017’s Mass Effect: Andromeda.
“Frostbite unlocks a whole new world of possibilities for the Fifa franchise and its fans,” said David Rutter, EA Sports’ VP and Executive Producer. “We have never been as excited as we are today about the future of football and the experiences we are going to deliver in Fifa 17.”
