Apple launches half-price student discounts on Apple Music memberships

SAN FRANCISCO, May 7 — Tech giant Apple has unveiled a fresh strategy to boost subscribers to its streaming music service, offering a discount to its Apple Music service for students.

The plan, which has also given rise to a partnership with student verification technology provider, UNiDAYS, will see Apple shell out a 50 per cent discount on Apple Music for those who are enrolled in an eligible college or university.

According to TechCrunch, the new membership option will initially be available from yesterday to students across the US, UK, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Both new and existing subscribers will be able to take advantage of the deal, by either signing up or changing their membership from the web or the Apple Music mobile application for iOS and Android.— AFP-Relaxnews
