BAGHDAD, Sept 11 — This is the aftermath of one of five blasts that hit in and around Iraq’s capital yesterday.
Here, at a main bus stop in downtown Baghdad, four people were killed and at least 11 wounded.
Amaq news agency, which is linked to Islamic State, said a suicide bomber wearing vest targetted “a gathering of security members”.
Police and medical sources say Saturday’s attacks killed at least 12 people in total, and wounded 27.
Militants have lost ground over the past year to U.S.-backed government forces and Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias.
But bombings in Baghdad prove they can still strike outside the territory they control. — Reuters
