Release date announced for ‘Trainspotting 2’

LONDON, May 17 — The long-awaited sequel to Trainspotting has finally been given a release date.

Director Danny Boyle has released a teaser confirming that Trainspotting 2 will hit cinemas on January 27 2017.

The fast-paced clip sees the film’s original cast of Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle reunite for the project as the characters Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy and Spud.

Filming begins today.

The teaser features footage from the first movie, based on the novel of the same name by Irvine Welsh, which became a cult cinema classic upon its release in 1996. — AFP-Relaxnews
